At the heart of the museum, an expressive cube of exhibition halls appears to float inside a transparent glass cylinder. Between the two volumes, luminous atriums take shape, housing all the essential spaces, while the widest sections open into areas for temporary exhibitions and large-scale art objects.
Clad in anodised aluminium, the cube is crossed by the dynamic lines of escalators that seem to slice through its mass, while staircases rising from the lower levels are woven so neatly into its structure that they never interrupt the free flow of visitors on the ground floor.
The building seems to glow from within. By day, its restrained façade of frosted glass shimmers; by night, the museum becomes a lantern of bright, diffused light.
Raised above the ground, the volume feels weightless. The ground floor lies open to the eye, and the building seems to invite you in.
